Global Safety & Research Security Policy
The Global Safety and Security Policy provides guidance to all Baylor University travelers.
Overview of the Policy:
This policy establishes University requirements for global engagement with the goal of maximizing personal health, safety and security, compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and consolidating travel health, safety and security, training, and reporting requirements.
The policy lays out safety and security guidelines related to University sponsored travel, which includes complying with industry best practices, University policies and procedures, state, federal, and international laws and regulations.
The policy lays out the safety and security thresholds for travel approval as well as suspension of travel.
The policy states that Baylor may deny or withdraw approval for Baylor-Sponsored International Travel at any time due to changing circumstances within the country of travel. For example, without limitation, Baylor may withdraw approval of travel to any country for which the U.S. Department of State has issued a mandatory evacuation order.
The policy discusses the role of the International Travel Committee in approving, suspending, or denying travel.
